Description: The Improv Project research
group is building the technologies for producing 3D virtual environments in which human-directed "avatars" and lifelike computer-controlled
"agents" interact with one another in real-time.
Role: Led Improv research group from 1995 to 1999,
co-developed animation and behaviors systems with Ken Perlin, produced several papers and public demonstrations of the work.
Description: The Pad project has been exploring
the use of "Zooming" in the creation of intuitive user interfaces for desktop applications, hand-held devices and the web.
Role: Developed prototype application, PADCAD,
using Pad++ to demonstrate the use of zooming in managing complex multi-faceted projects. Created numerous graphics for
PAD informational material.
